Zandvoort
Temse/Madeira
network
In 1992, Werkgroep Morkhoven
was famous. The men carried on to check the hospital "Good Engels"
of Antwerp, where the young patients would break arms and legs in isolation
cells, even a five years-old girl died in one of them, without Professor
Cosyns realising anything.
The children were delighted,
as comforted by victory of simple men over the over powerful Social Service.
They spoke freely and without fear, even of their escapades, when they
took the bus for the town of Temse, to 17 kilometres from there. They
laughed without understanding the gravity of what they said: They had
appointments with Norbert De Rijck, the receptionist of the hospital of
the local Social Service. He was paying them to pose for pornographic
photographs in bars Monty and Gayatti.
The men went to Temse,
to make sure of what was happening. They went in the bars, met those people,
tending their ears, asking questions here and there. The case was more
serious than expected. The Social Service would slam the door at their
faces. The police was just as rude. The only possibility to protect the
children was to prohibit them to enter the bars and gather the parents.
There were tens of families to find and most difficult was to convince
them. All feared to confront the Social Services, the majority would depend
upon Social Lodging or benefits. When they accepted to meet one another,
they found that being united made them strong, and nothing could stop
them anymore. The case exploded, the children were protected, but the
criminals left free.
The owners of the bars
were furious. One of them made a formal complaint, pretending Marcel had
threatened him to report him for possession of pornographic photographs
children, offering his silence for money. He thus officially admitted
he possessed the photographs the Werkgroep Morkhoven blamed him of taking,
yet he was left free. At the same moment: a woman trading pornographic
video, paid one of her friends and two men of the Werkgroep Morkhoven
to accuse Marcel of swindling.
An old man who had gone
voluntary to distribute the pamphlets, was shown by his adoptive son for
child abuse. Justice seized the case, and so did the press, but not to
treat the interfamilial tragedy or to controversy certain adoption, but
to say that man was a member of the Werkgroep Morkhoven and the Werkgroep
Morkhoven was an association of paedophiles.
Again, all the men where
treated as criminals. The police would arrest them, question them and
search their houses. Justice required that Marcel pass psychiatric examinations.
He was condemned to 6 months of work of public interests for blackmail
and swindling. The man who had rushed to the police to admit his crimes
was never condemned for that. He was thus supposed to have been blackmailed
for a crime for which he was not to answer.
It will take 7 years for
the Court of Appeal to clear Marcel. Time that one of the men of Temse
declares to the press having carried false accusation to drive away the
Werkgroep Morkhoven from their network. Time that Marcel discover a 50.000-FB
receipt from one of their former men to the saleswoman of video porn,
in exchange he would make false accusation. Time for an expert in graphology
proves that the judgments of swindles had been made on the basis of forgery
in writing.
The court will congratulate the Werkgroep Morkhoven for its work, yet
it will condemn Marcel to 7 months of prison with deferment, for
having mess in his files. The saleswoman of porn will be condemned to
6 months of work of public interests. None of the other people involved
will ever be bothered.
The band of De Rijck
was still free to abuse children. The men of the Werkgroep Morkhoven landed
in Turnhout with wheelbarrows of brick, sand and cement, announcing they
were going to wall the door of the Law Court. The crowd gathered, laughing
as usual and the men distributed pamphlets. Two police vans arrived. A
dozen men armed to the teeth got out, ready to intervene with the first
threat of the trowel, what doubled the laughs.
Activism proved to be
far safer for the protection animals, than for the protection of children
in danger. Each action resulted to arrests, questionings and house searching.
In 1995, Marcel had found
several former patients of the psychiatric hospital. Many had ended up
in what Dutch people call "homosexual agencies of escort" and
the Belgian police did not care.
The Werkgroep Morkhoven
released 200 white mice and 5000 crickets in the Tower of Yser, symbol
of Flanders. The reaction surpassed the imagination, parting the country
between laughter and anger. The administration threatened to sue the organization,
assuring that the hopping insects had damaged the new fitted carpet. The
Flemish press broke out, fustigating the activists' lack of respect.
They had gone too far. Justice ordered new interrogations and new house
searching for illegal possession of white mice and crickets. The leader
of the Werkgroep Morkhoven was arrested and imprisoned for repeated drinking
and driving for five days, until the authorities realised they had arrested
Marcel instead of Luc.
Meanwhile in prison, he
was allowed access to his file, which included the passive of all the
ones implied in the complaint for blackmail against him. The police of
Waarle in Holland had arrested De Rijck three years earlier in a case
of paedophilia. He was viewing a video of child pornography of his own
production with Lothar Glandorf, owner of a children’s brothel in
Rotterdam and Robert Van Der Plancken, a young Belgian prostitute in Amsterdam.
It thus appeared that,
Belgian justice had the evidence since three years, but De Rijck was still
receptionist at the hospital of the local Social Services, still free
to invite children to star pornographic picture, while Marcel was arrested
for the drinking and driving of Luc.
The discovery invited
to a little trip in Holland, in view to meet the other person involved.
