Johan Daneels, here interviewed 10 years ago, believed he could fool the lie detector, but panicked, refused to pass it, with shouts and threats:
- It is a poker game, he said. If Vervloesem gets away, it is I who will go to prison.
Another plaintif recognized that they had all been paid 375 euros to file false complaints, of which partly by the press. Johan Daneels finaly refused to be represent by the lawyer of the band.
The doctors attested that the sugar rate in the blood of the accused had made him impotent and that the state of his heart is such that the Viagra which would have been necessary to the performance of the described rapes, would have killed him on the spot. For New Year's 2008, the parents of the village of Morkhoven agreed that 40 children would come and to sing for Marcel Vervloesem.

The facts go back eleven years, but the first abuse of Vervloesem goes back to when he was ten years old. He is the second witness of sexual abuse Marcel Vervloesem. Previously in the course of the day, Victor Vervloesem testified to have been sexually abused: V.V.I was abused from 1977 to 1981. Marcel Vervloesem denies the charges. He will file a complaint against his brother Victor and the other plaintiffs: M.V.I never abused my brother and never I will do so. My brother must re-consider what he says. There was in the past, an investigation of the gendarmerie about sexual abuse and he denounced another man for the facts he now accuses me off. V.V. It was in 1978. He blackmailed me: psychiatry - prison. It is the gendarmerie of Herentals which with directed this investigation. |
A teenager, who like Johan Daneels, had accused him of rapes by anal and oral penetrations whereas medicine shows he is unable of it, and by cartridges of ball point pens in the penis, also came to sing for him, asking him forgiveness. He had been threatened by Victor Vervloesem, also here interviewed, and the police officers had changed his declarations, he said.
The one who had recognized having been paid to accuse him of a sexual orgy the day of its 15 years birthday, whereas Marcel Vervloesem was in wheelchair, one of his legs pierced by pins, also came with his three children, who sung for him.
The judgement is expected on February 6, 2008.
